Last year, I was asked to speak at Cal State San Diego.

Two months removed from breaking my back.

Two days since my father’s passing.

I was able to speak to high school and college students and gave the best lecture of my life.

All while fighting grief and being grateful.

LA / ECHO PARK: Driving through LA towards OC and realizing it was a Wednesday, it was perfect timing that I was able to stop by for their 🙌🏼 I got to try a lil of everything and still had way too much food to bring home to hubby!!

Per Google maps, the last time I visited was 6 years ago. The food was just as sarap/delicious today as it was then!! 👏🏼🇵🇭🇺🇸🤙🏼

That’s us.

The Park’s Finest is one of my favorite restaurants in LA. They serve Filipino-American fusion BBQ. I have been eating here for more than a decade and everything I ever ordered was excellent. What keeps bringing me back is their coconut beef adobo with that creamy sauce and tender beef is so delicious. Also no trip is complete without ordering their famous Ann’s Cornbread Bibingka, it’s some of the best cornbread I’ve ever eaten. This place is truly worth checking out. And yes, it’s just a short walk from the house used in Michael Jackson’s Thriller along with some other famous houses in the Angelino Heights neighborhood.
