🇺🇸 Join us at Stoll & Wolfe Distillery on June 5th for a special evening with historian Dr. Iris de Rode as she presents:
“Spirits of the Revolution: What America’s War for Independence Tasted Like”
Discover the fascinating role spirits played during the American Revolution — from the rum rations carried by Continental soldiers to the Madeira, claret, cognac, and champagne shared by George Washington, his officers, and their French allies under Rochambeau.
Dr. de Rode will explore how spirits, wine, and shared tables helped forge alliances, sustain morale, and shape early American culture during the fight for independence.
Dr. Iris de Rode is a historian and leading expert on the French role in the American Revolution. She also contributed her expertise to Ken Burns’ recent documentary series on the American Revolution, helping highlight the critical role France played in securing American independence.
It’s a story of history, camaraderie, diplomacy, and the enduring traditions behind a raised glass.
