There’s a whole lot more behind a bottle of Meinelschmidt than wh***ey. 🥃🇺🇸

Cort recently sat down with Couple O’ Nukes at Frontline Tastings to talk about the road from Navy aviation rescue swimmer to distillery owner.

And it definitely wasn’t a straight line.

They get into military service, building a business from scratch, surviving the early days of COVID, figuring out wh***ey one batch at a time, dealing with the not-so-glamorous side of owning a distillery, and why Meinelschmidt was always meant to become something bigger than another bottle on a shelf.

Because for us, making wh***ey and building up Hagerstown have always gone hand in hand.

Your home bar called. It’s tired of wh***ey and Coke. 🥃

Bree’s making a Godfather cocktail with Meinelschmidt Cask Strength Wheated Wh***ey. Two bottles, a lemon peel, and absolutely no need for a bartending degree.

Here’s your move:

🧊 Start with a rocks glass and a big ice cube.
🥃 Add 2 oz of our Cask Strength Wheated Wh***ey.
🤌 Add Disaronno to taste. Start small. You can add more, but good luck taking it back out.
🥄 Give it a stir.
🍋 Twist a lemon peel over the glass to release the oils, then drop it in.

Wh***ey, almond sweetness, a little citrus. Look at you. Suddenly everyone wants you making the drinks.

Jimmy Anderson of the Maryland Department of Veterans & Military Families stopped by the Meinelschmidt table at MIC Frontline Tastings to share a pour with Cort and see what we’ve been making back home.

And yeah… there’s something pretty damn cool about watching Maryland wh***ey travel hundreds of miles and still feel like home.
