The Schindel Rohrer Building was purchased in 2015 at auction. Since then, Bowman Development has invested heavily in fixing up the building and finding quality tenants to fill it. Recently, local investors reached out asking if there was interest in selling the building and it was decided to put this property on the market. To expedite the sale of the building, we have made the difficult decision to permanently close 28 South.
Bowman Development’s commitment to our downtown has not changed. We will continue to bring a high-level product to the local community, and we remain fully invested in Downtown Hagerstown as evidenced by our projects on South Potomac Street and our affiliation with the new multi-use ballpark. Further, the sale of the Schindel Rohrer Building will allow us to commit more fully to our newest project – luxury downtown apartments.
We understand the disappointment that this closure will cause to our loyal customers, but we are hopeful that they will try one of the many other dining establishments in Downtown Hagerstown.
