Eddie Spaghetti with Metal Marty~ February 25 at Tip Top!

Eddie Spaghetti has been the ringleader of the Supersuckers since 1988. But with the bands creation of their own conglomerate (Mid Fi Recordings) in 2002, Spaghetti also found time for a tidy, good-timin solo career. Sauce appeared in 2004; it featured covers of outlaw country favorites from Kristofferson and Cash as well as a few Spaghetti originals. The Supersuckers were still a band during Eddies dalliance they released a few live records and even toured with Pearl Jam. But by 2005 Spaghetti had found enough time and songs for another solo flight, and Old No. 2 appeared that October. According to Mr. Spaghetti, The Sauce showcases his impeccable song choices and uncanny ability to sing the drinking songs for drinkers who like to drink the drinks.

Supersuckers guitar player Metal Marty releases debut solo album. Backed by fellow Suckers, Eddie Spaghetti (who co-wrote the album) and Chris Von Streicher, Greatest Hits spins tales of common folks, blue collar laborers and dudes named Hot Tub that work hard during the day and play harder at night, conjuring Steve Earle at times, evoking Iggy Pop at others.

Based in Detroit, MI, Chirp is a four-piece band that does their fair share of genre-hopping. Often playing in the styles of progressive rock/funk and jazz-fusion, their sound maintains a melodic center. The group features a wide array of originals and covers in their live sets and puts together dynamic, high-energy shows. Though their music ties in many technical elements, an equal emphasis is put on grooving and keeping people moving. Chirp takes influence from Snarky Puppy, Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin, James Brown, Yes, Daft Punk, Vulfpeck, and The Beatles to name a few.

do i know any guitarists that can play ska/reggae? as well as oi, hardcore,punk,etc. so many guitarists seem to have trouble playing ska so im curious. doin a ska/skinhead reggae/motown/oi/punk kinda thing if yer interested. hopin to have horns n keys and all that too. touring GR block parties next summer! if you love this music you are welcome!
