The Lake Estes Marina is officially open for the season! 🚣☀️

One of our favorite parts of summer in Estes Park is getting out on the water and soaking in the incredible mountain views from Lake Estes. Whether you’re paddling a kayak, enjoying a pedal boat, or simply taking in the scenery, it’s a great way to experience the beauty of the Rockies.

Don’t let altitude sickness slow you or the kids down. Save this post before your trip.

- Consider giving your body time to adjust to the elevation. Consider spending time in Denver at 5,280 feet, then take a slower drive into Estes Park at 7,522 feet with a stop along the way.

- Stay hydrated. Bring a water bottle and keep drinking throughout the day. Try to avoid too much caffeine and alcohol while adjusting to the altitude.

- If you have health conditions, talk with your doctor before your trip about altitude sickness and ways to prepare.

- A few weeks before your visit, increase your cardio activity to help your body adjust.

- And yes, oxygen cans are popular here for a reason. Many visitors from lower elevations pick one up once they arrive.
