We are all connected - in sometimes the simplest ways! Duluth Sister Cities is tickled about the fun work by Canal Park Brewing Company- Duluth, MN on their Two Bells Lager, and we were thrilled to share this with our official delegation from - Isumi this weekend. These simple touchpoints can lead to greater things!

A few weeks ago, our incredible brewers brewed a Japanese Lager called Two Bells Japanese Lager. 🍺🔔

Zach, our assistant brewer, was inspired by his travels to Japan, along with the story of Duluth’s sister city, Isumi, Japan, and the Peace Bell at Enger Park.

On Zach’s second visit to Japan, he took a day to travel to Isumi and hiked up to see their bell. He photographed it, and we ended up making it part of the Two Bells can label. The Duluth bell is on the left, and the Isumi bell is on the right.

We reached out to Duluth Sister Cities International to see if they’d like to try the beer and hear more about the story behind it. They were truly excited and loved hearing how Zach’s vision came to life. The timing made it even more special because an adult delegation from Japan would soon be visiting Duluth.

That delegation arrived this week and had lunch at the brewery today. When we welcomed them, they surprised both Zach and me with miniature replicas of the bell in Isumi. ❤️🔔

Tonight, we’re joining them for a potluck, where we’ll be enjoying Two Bells Japanese Lager and singing karaoke!

And somehow, this story is only just beginning...

A little beer, a little mingling, and a really fun night at UnWined! 🍻

We had a great time pouring Canal Park Brewing Co. beer tonight at the Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce’s UnWined event at Pike Lake Event Center.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a pour, a conversation, or both — and to the Hermantown Area Chamber for bringing together such a great crowd of local businesses and community members.

We’re always happy to take a little CPB beyond Canal Park. 💙🍺

When you put a giant 3D moose in the parking lot, the CPB crew is going to have some fun with it. 😂🫎

Our team took a few minutes to jump into the artwork, strike a pose and enjoy this incredible piece before it disappears.

That’s the bittersweet thing about chalk art—it isn’t meant to last forever. But the fun, the photos and the memories sure can. ❤️
