House garlic cream sauce, local organic asparagus, Driftless Provisions soppressata, and aged Marieke Gouda, finished with a little arugula and fresh squeeze of lemon for a bright pop that ties it all together.

Fresh. Savory. A little unexpected. And ridiculously good.

ā˜€ļø Patio season is finally here, and we’ve been busy. The updated outdoor space is ready for warm evenings, good food, great drinks, and conversations that last longer than planned.

Spring flavors are showing off this week šŸŒæšŸ•

Our pizza feature this week is Rhubarb… yes, you heard right… paired with prosciutto & Caprine Supreme goat cheese on our house garlic cream sauce, then finished with fresh arugula. Tangy, creamy, salty, and ridiculously good together.

And because you all loved it so much, the baked triple cream brie appetizer is making another appearance this week too šŸ§€ Served warm with jam, maple pecans, and gluten-free crackers.

Cocktail lovers, this one might be the most seasonal drink we’ve ever made…

🌲 Spruce Tip Collins
Made with La Crosse Distilling Co. organic gin, house-made organic spruce tip syrup & tincture, organic Meyer lemon juice, and a splash of seltzer. Bright citrus, crisp alpine forest vibes, and unlike anything you’ve ever had.

The spruce tips were hand harvested at peak spring growth and only come around once a year, so this cocktail won’t last long.

A couple weeks ago I said it was finally starting to really feel like my place… and honestly, this was a huge part of that ā¤ļø

That poor little shed went from being the one thing I tried not to look at, to finally feeling like it actually fits in with the rest of the tavern and patio space…. the kind of place made for warm summer nights, good food and drinks, and hanging out with friends longer than you planned ā˜€ļøšŸ»

And apparently Mother Nature approved too, because the second everything was finally set up, we got absolutely perfect patio weather and you all filled it up beautifully 😊

Next up on the project list: getting grass seed down so everyone has even more yard to spill out into!

The 15th and final load gets picked up today, and at 16 tons per load, that brings the final total to 240 tons 😳

And somehow THREE different people guessed the exact amount šŸ‘

So congratulations to Mandy Boncher, Jessica Oudenhoven, and Andrew Teal! Looks like you three will need to coordinate a meeting time to split your pizza 🤣

Seriously though… thank you all. Watching this little tavern grow enough that we needed to add more parking has been pretty wild.

We’ll keep posting photos as the rest of the landscaping gets finished up, and now we’re just looking forward to some consistent patio weather so you all can enjoy it ā˜€ļøšŸ»

Turns out… we’ve got a parking problem.
(Which is honestly a pretty great problem to have.)

The support this place has seen lately has been incredible, and we simply don’t have enough parking space for everyone anymore… so the side yard is officially becoming more.

Right now it mostly looks like a small quarry operation šŸ˜†ā€¦ but soon it’ll mean a handful of much-needed new spots.

For the gravel experts out there:
We dug out roughly 14 inches of soil from this entire area…

So here’s the question:

ā›°ļø How many TONS of gravel do you think it’ll take to fill it back in?

Closest guess without going over gets a pizza on us.

(And yes… we may have underestimated how big of a project this was.)

We had a ton of requests to keep the Derby pizza around forever… so we’re giving it one more week (or until the smoked pork is gone).

Big things happening around here šŸ‘€

The shed is getting a full facelift and will finally match the main building… and honestly, I couldn’t be more excited to never look at that terrible color again. This one’s bigger than aesthetics. It finally feels like mine.

We also cleared out a bunch of trees to open things up and make room for a bit more parking… and we’re pushing the patio area further into the yard. Can’t wait to share the final tonnage of stone delivered and a few before and after pics!
