On September 6th, Famous Last Words welcomes New York artist Marisa Zarczynski for the opening of our next in our Famous Last Show series: EMZ: NEMESIS.

Marisa is a born-and-raised New Yorker, fine artist, designer, author, and former Creative Arts Therapist whose work explores healing, identity, personal history, and justice.

Famous Last Shows is our way of giving our walls back to the people who make this neighborhood what it is. Every month, we invite an artist in, hang their work, throw a party, and connect them directly with our community.

Our pop-up chef grace rasnake “raz-nic” will be serving some bangers in the backyard. All show long, enjoy a $10 Ikebana Japanese Rice Lager or Founders Easy Drinking Beer paired with a shot of Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey, or a $14 Gray Whale Gin or Vodka Martini—and we’ll close out the evening with a Champagne toast.

The lounge and back yard will be closed to the public for said event but we’re offering $45 all access wristbands that will get you back there to mingle and enjoy free catering by Pizza Loves Emily 🍕❤️E and complimentary beer courtesy of Estrella Galicia ! Since we had a little Gokasho Organic Uji Hikari matcha from the incredible Kettl in Greenpoint lying around, we figured there was only one responsible thing to do with it.

Introducing today’s Margarita Monday special: the Matcha Margarita.

Made with Gokasho Organic Uji Hikari ceremonial matcha from Uji, Kyoto (City of Kyoto Official Account), Mi Campo Reposado tequila (Tequila Mi Campo) from Jalisco, Mexico (Jalisco Es México), and freshly squeezed lime juice from our friends Rivera Produce Corporation.

Prefer it a little sweeter? Ask us to finish it with a dash of our house cherry blossom syrup.

As always classic margaritas are $6 all night and , 15% of this evening’s Margarita Monday proceeds benefit Immigrant Defense Project, who work every day to defend the rights of immigrants, fight for equal justice, and stand with communities facing unlawful and abusive enforcement.

New frozens on deck as usual. Our new pink slip is a watermelon hibiscus Tequila Cazadores margarita which brings a floral fruity fun taste of summer. The aptly named Southern kiss is a bourbon, ginger limeade, and it’s got just the right amount of spice and citrus to calm down the smoky bite of Woodford Reserve bourbon. These won’t be here long! It’s getting down to the wire and we’ll have all your World Cup games on deck with full sound till the end of the tournament. This redicous heat dome is brutal but we have a solution. New frozen drinks. This week: the Shibuya sour. A take on our classic and highest rated frozen cocktail to date, the “last call in Shibuya, a frozen yuzu martini, this is a yuzu sour topped with a float of sparkling Shiraz. Perfect summer fare.
