It’s National Arts Education Week!

We believe every kid deserves the chance to experience the arts—not just as a spectator, but as a creator.

That’s why supporting youth art education is such an important part of what we do at the Anacortes Arts Festival. Through our Giving Program, we help bring art into our local schools and community through programs like:
- Funding resident artists in Anacortes elementary schools
- Supporting art education and creative programs throughout our community
- Creating opportunities for kids to get hands-on and make art during the Anacortes Arts Festival

And we couldn’t do it alone. The Anacortes School District and Anacortes Schools Foundation are important partners in making art in our schools possible. Together, we’re helping bring artists, creative experiences and meaningful opportunities to Anacortes students.

Because art education is about so much more than making something pretty. It gives kids a place to experiment, imagine, problem-solve, express themselves and see the world a little differently.

And when we invest in young artists, we’re investing in the creative future of our entire community. ❤️

The music may have paused, but the art lives on!

The 2026 Piano-Cortes pianos are now on display throughout downtown Anacortes, adding color, creativity, and a little surprise around every corner.

This unique community project is a collaboration between the Anacortes Arts Commission, the Anacortes Arts Festival, and the Anacortes Creative District. This year's pianos were beautifully transformed live during the Festival by talented artists Cal Robinson and Chelsea Wirtz.

Now it's your chance to make one of these one-of-a-kind works of art your own! The Piano-Cortes auction is officially LIVE and will remain open through Sunday, September 6. Proceeds help support future public art and creative placemaking in our community.

Take a stroll through downtown, find your favorite piano, and place your bid before the auction closes!

What an incredible weekend!

To our amazing community, generous sponsors, talented artists, dedicated vendors, hardworking volunteers, and the thousands of visitors who joined us from near and far—thank you for making the 65th Anacortes Arts Festival one to remember.

From sunshine-filled days to a little Pacific Northwest rain, you showed up, celebrated creativity, supported artists, and filled downtown Anacortes with energy, laughter, and connection. It's because of all of you that this Festival continues to thrive after 65 years.

Thank you for being part of this amazing tradition. We already can't wait to welcome you back for another unforgettable weekend of art, music, food, and community.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the more than 170 volunteers, half a dozen local high school sports teams, our dedicated production crew, and our incredible staff who made this year's Anacortes Arts Festival possible.

Whether you greeted visitors with a smile, assisted artists, staffed the information booth or the fine art show, supported Festival operations, helped with set-up and breakdown, or stepped in wherever you were needed most, your time, energy, and commitment are the heart of this Festival.

For 65 years, the Anacortes Arts Festival has been powered by a community that believes in the arts—and that community is you.
