A place where decadence lived and time seemed to bend. For over a century, this iconic house on Nybrokajen 9 has been home to late nights, grand stories, and unforgettable encounters. Ingrid Bergman, Frank Sinatra, Greta Garbo, and Audrey Hepburn once graced the bar, sipping cocktails in an atmosphere charged with artistry, decadence, and intrigue. ing it a space brimming with energy, indulgence, and an undeniable pulse. In the late 1960s, this very house became the home of Alexandras, Sweden’s first international nightclub—a place that set the standard for high society nightlife and cemented its status as Stockholm’s most glamorous destination. But over time, the golden glow of those nights began to fade. We are opening the doors to a new era—one where an exceptional restaurant, bold bars, a vibrant rooftop, and a devotion to food, drink, hospitality, and indulgence bring this legendary space back to life. This is where long lunches turn into late nights, where locals and international guests come together once again to share perfectly crafted cocktails, refined dining experiences, and spontaneous celebrations. What a day to be in Stockholm. The sun is out, the city is buzzing, and the weekend is finally here.

We have a feeling many of you will be making your way up to Charles today, which we absolutely love. If there’s a little wait before heading to the rooftop, you’re always welcome to start the evening with a drink at Strand on street level.

And since it’s Friday, Cocktail Hour is on between 2 PM and 7 PM, with bubbles poured at a rather irresistible price.

Feeling hungry? Stay a little longer. We’ll happily find you a table for dinner and let the weekend unfold from there.

We are proud to present the very first Christmas table at Strand Stockholm. Even if spring has only just settled over the city, we wanted to open the doors early, as the most sought-after dates and seatings tend to fill quickly already before Midsummer.

The Christmas table at Strand is shaped by both heritage and intention. The classic flavors are all here, but in a lighter, more contemporary interpretation, where carefully selected ingredients take center stage.

The cold dishes are presented as a beautiful and generous buffet, while the warm courses are served directly to your table, prepared à la minute and balanced with precision. Dessert is served from a generous buffet filled with classic sweets – flavors that bring back memories of childhood Christmases.

The Christmas table is served between November 25 and December 24. Reservations are now open through our website.

Saturday brunch before the summer.

Brunch with friends, a cocktail in hand, a touch of caviar, and the city just beyond the glass. The perfect way to begin the day, the house, and the weekend.

On June 13, we serve the final brunch of the season before summer takes over the house. Gather your friends and join us while the ritual still lingers. And now that Charles is open for the season, slip upstairs afterwards for a few final drinks in the afternoon sun.

Snapshots from a weekend that passed. Some came for the rooftop and found themselves staying for dinner downstairs. Others arrived for Saturday brunch and drifted up to Charles as the day unfolded. Summer in full motion. We love seeing every floor filled with life.

Every weekend, the room fills. Locals, visitors, familiar faces and new ones. Glasses on the table, something passed around, someone ordering another round. The round tables have found their rhythm, pulling people together, turning slow mornings into afternoons that take on a life of their own. And sometimes, you stay for the night. That’s brunch, the Strand way.
