It is with great sadness that we share the news of the recent passing of Wayne. Our dearest friend and long standing part of the Dragon whānau.

We take comfort knowing you passed peacefully, surrounded by family, back in your beloved King country. The King is home.

We will miss you everyday and remember and talk about you always.
It has been a privilege to serve you and for you to allow us become your family.

Sunday's looking pretty good from where we're standing!

We're open from midday and you can soak up the sun in our beer garden.

It's a football lover's dream day, with Scotland v Haiti at 1pm and Australia v Türkiye at 4pm.

We've even got the Buckfast in for our Celtic neighbours (swipe for evidence).

Sunday roast is already sold out but you might get lucky if you give us a call to get on the waiting list.

Rounding up a pretty perfect day with our pub quiz at 7pm.

THE JUNIOR GAFFER HAS SPOKEN!

After days of research, player comparisons, transfer rumours and repeatedly telling the adults they "don't know ball", our Junior Gaffer has locked in his squad for the opening round of the World Cup Fantasy League.

The tournament starts tomorrow.
And yes...
He's picked THREE England players.

After a rigorous recruitment process (dropping a message in our team group chat), we had to look elsewhere to find the right person to run our pub World Cup Fantasy Football team.

Meet the Junior Gaffer.

He watches more football than you imagine could be physically possible, he knows players we've never heard of, and he's already ignoring instructions from senior management.

We'll be updating his team picks throughout the tournament, so let's hope he doesn't lose the dressing room.

The Dragon is on the hunt for a Duty Manager to join the team.

We continue to go from strength to strength and looking to expand the team to enable the business to continue to grow.

Over our 22 years in business, we have created a wonderful pub environment which keeps people from all over the world coming back for more.

We are completely bigger and better than just somewhere to eat or drink. We are somewhere that people come to belong.

About the role:

Management of Staff
Day-to-Day running of bar
Ensuring licensing compliance
Providing the highest level of customer care, and matching our high standards in the welcome we offer
Assisting General Manager in weekly/monthly tasks

A Duty Manager Certificate is preferred.

You'll need to be an all-rounder who will be happy to take on a multitude of roles that a busy pub requires.

Above all you need to fit-in with the best crew in town.

Pay is negotiable depending on experience. Great staff training & development, profit share scheme, bonus schemes, staff meals & discounts.
