Waikino Tavern sits in the scenic Karangahake Gorge, right beside the Ohinemuri River and the Hauraki Rail Trail. As we head towards the warmer summer months, we will be looking for staff to help us through the busy times, opening opportunities for eager individuals to join our iconic and historic Hotel & Distillery.
We’re looking for people who can multitask across every part of the business—from flipping burgers and making pizzas, to pouring beer or mixing cocktails. Experience is welcome but not essential; we're happy to provide training. However, knowledge of either the Food Control Plan (FCP) or Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act would be an advantage.
This role requires flexibility as we are open 7 days a week throughout the year.
At this stage the role is part-time with hours dependant on bookings and events so the ability to work weekends and public holidays is a must.

We will be open from 12pm as usual all week with kitchen fully open and beers running cold.
Gold card Tuesday between 12pm - 4pm - 10% off meals & drinks.

An update on Frank. So Frank is adapting happily to pub life and is quite content at the locals table. He's learning to feed himself but prefers to be fed. Flying is still a work in progress 😊.
