Every exchange is a chance to grow. 👨‍🍳🇹🇼🇳🇿

I’m really grateful to have been part of Formosa Table – Black & White Chefs as the Head Chef and Owner of Cheers & Karaoke Bar.

It was an honour to cook alongside Chef Luo and Chef Long, who travelled all the way from Taiwan to share their passion, skills, and experience with us.

One of the biggest highlights for me was learning how to create our new Pop Chicken. They generously shared their techniques, from preparation and seasoning to presentation, and our team learned so much from them.

A huge thank you to Chef Luo and Chef Long, the Formosa Table team, and Ara Institute of Canterbury for generously providing the venue and supporting this incredible event. Thank you as well to all the students, guests, and everyone behind the scenes who helped make it such a great success.

I can’t wait to bring what I’ve learned back to Cheers & Karaoke Bar and continue sharing authentic Taiwanese flavours with Christchurch.

Food brings people together, and that’s what makes it so special. ❤️
