Rather than a typical platter, at Small Town Winery, you can choose exactly what you would like as individual plates of cheese, charcuterie and other sides. We like to have a mix of the best of local and international in our selection. Pictured is the NZ wagyu bresaola from Hannah A Lady Butcher and a saucisson sec from Savoie in France imported by who also bring in some great French cheese. All of our charcuterie is sliced to order using our Berkel manual flywheel slicer. Find us at 2 Horton street in the centre of Blenheim. Open 10am till late, 7 days a week.

Our guest wines by the glass this week at Small Town Winery include a couple of natural wines, a Xinomavro and a Gavi. From Small Town Winery favourites A Thousand Gods Wines we have the Boat in The Woods viognier… and back by popular request… the Love Letters Chilled Red. From Northern Italy we have the Rolona Gavi di Gavi, a crisp mineral white made from the Cortese grape. And from Greece the Ramnista a juicy, full-bodied and savoury red made from Xinomavro. Acquired in limited quantities and available only until they run out, we always have a few interesting international wines on our list and always a couple by the glass.

Just two Pride Wairau events left for 2026! To celebrate the festival, we have a special Pride themed cocktail menu. Made with Scapegrace Vodka, cranberry juice, lime, triple sec and orange bitters — our twist on a cosmopolitan is topped with miniature rainbows. The Rainbow Rally starts at 11am at Seymour Square, and the Euphoria Closing Party is from 9pm tonight. Small Town Winery is the Pride HQ and will be open all day right up until the Euphoria party starts. In person ticket sales, Pride merch, mini flags for the rally if you need — we have you covered.

What an amazing night of music and community at Small Town Winery for the Pride Wairau festival. Thank you to the artists and Maree Lawn for sharing your music with us. Just a few more events for this year’s festival — tomorrow is the Rainbow Rally (free) and the Euphoria Closing Party, which still has a few tickets available. These events are welcoming to everyone, so even if you haven’t yet participated in any Pride Wairau events, now is your chance to show your support no matter who you love or how you identify. As the Pride Wairau HQ, we have event info, ticket sales and merch to support the festival. Small Town Winery will be open all weekend from 10am-late.

We are closed from 6.30 tonight for a live music gig as part of Pride Wairau but there are still tickets available online or at the door. To celebrate Pride, we have a special cocktail menu and have given our house frosé a little makeover with a baby blue, pink and white sour raspberry sugar rim, topped with strawberry, raspberry and passionfruit candyfloss in the colours of the transgender pride flag.

Tonight is the Pride Wairau Voices Unbound Creative Showcase, a special evening of storytelling, performance and conversation celebrating creative voices from the Chinese rainbow diaspora. Join our Jane as she interviews playwright and spoken word artist Nathan Joe and the creators of the short film Fearlessli Documentary — Lee Li and Tyler Redmond — Tickets are available through the Pride Wairau website or at Pride HQ the Small Town Winery, 2 Horton St.

If you are about town for Pride Wairau, you are welcome to come enjoy our selection of q***r literature in our Little Library with a few books on loan from Gabe and our team. We have a few pairs of Tempest Jewellery Designs rainbow earrings with all proceeds going to Pride Wairau.

It’s almost time for our blind tasting wine club night on Tuesday 23rd June. For this style of tasting, everyone brings a bottle, and we mix them up and then taste them blind. Some interesting (and challenging) blind tastings in the lineup last time — two Rieslings from the same Mosel producer on different coloured slate soil, a Chablis style Chardonnay from Central Otago, sur lie Sauvignon blanc from the Wairarapa... Thanks for the awesome wines last time, and if you haven’t come before, we are always welcoming new tasters along. Bring an interesting wine and $15 to cover corkage and some cheese, charcuterie and bread for the table. Check out our Facebook event for more info and to read our FAQs. Our Fire Island Sour is a gin sour starting with Roots Marlborough Dry Gin paired with a little house-made ginger syrup for an aromatic, fiery kick, then tempered with pomegranate juice, Cointreau and orange bitters. Our Small Town Winery is not only the pride hub for Pride Wairau but also a host venue for Thursday’s Accoustic Sessions with Katie-Lee and Maree Lawn — tickets are available on the Pride Wairau website and in person at Small Town Winery. We have a special menu of pride cocktails, including a non-alcoholic option, alongside our usual wine bar menu of food, wine, coffee, craft beer and sodas.

This week Pride Wairau will be hosting a live music event at Small Town Winery on Thursday evening from 7pm with Katie-Lee Webster and Maree Lawn. Katie-Lee will present a special live acoustic performance, sharing stripped-back versions of her original music alongside a selection of covers that have shaped her sound. Across the evening, she will also speak about her creative journey, offering insight into the stories behind the songs. The night will be presented across two acoustic sessions, creating a relaxed and intimate listening environment. Between sessions, guests will have the opportunity to mix, mingle, and connect. We have some special cocktails on for Pride Wairau. We are the hub for the festival, and we are hosting the acoustic session music night on Thursday. Our first themed cocktail is the K’Road K bar, a floral, aromatic daiquiri built around our pineapple sage syrup, elderflower and violet liqueurs. It is complex and perfumed but also hits a nostalgic pink candy flavour profile. Grown up but still playful.
