It is housed in the oldest surviving townhouse in Ireland - the 1582 Archer Inner House, 17 High St. The Elizabethan building with its tavern, snug and Archer room has been fully restored over the last 10 years and is open to visitors for the first time in hundreds of years. Hole In The Wall is available for hire for private parties, functions, conferences and all occasions. The Archer room situated upstairs is the perfect venue for intimate music gigs and lavish banquets! Another fascinating night at Hole in the Wall.

Up since 05.45.

Limerick to expose a plastered ope for sash window installation.

An amount of wooden floor washing etc.

Then the race back to Kk via the most interesting route.

To find people waiting for Hole in the Wall to open.

And then the joy for them as it opened. With the joking "Tell no one" request.

It's tough. But serving gives energy.

And then a family came in. "Back from the Ploughing?"

Such was the case. Award winners even! Entrepreneurs.

Of a Kilkenny invention reminiscent of how the Wexford man cured the population of Iceland of a parasitic infection in the 1860s.

Horses in their blood. A polo stick unearthed from the 'Horse Fever' installation upstairs. Discussion re how hurlers should step up to ride ponies and play polo. And identify how remarkable it is when a polo player bounces the smooth ball on the mortise point of the mallet at full tilt whilst ponies pursue.

Another challenge this evening.

It's been an interesting few weeks.

Unexpected moments time after time, after time again.

Hole in the wall is now in her hibernation phase of the year.

V few locals. And yet one was brought in last evening to announce that he's passed the entrance to the alley way every day for 30 years and never figured to drop in.

The list of chores is being whittled down.

Gutters. Despite it being such a dry summer, somehow they did not tackled adequately. They will await the next drought m.

The chimneys. A start soon. Pointing.

The 1799 Georgian - progress afoot. Slow. Steady. Getting ready for the sash windows. Its tavern might yet happen?

CHAOS - the book. Nearly read. Interesting to do so having met the author, Tom O'Neill at Hole in the Wall. Getting to a section that might fit with Hole in the Wall's conspiracy theory re the murder of JFK.

The trip to Munich was both a disappointment and a a success. It may have heralded the end of conference gatherings? The latter were for asking live questions. And triggering 'battles' from the floor. Now, questions are largely for submission by phone apps. And the reason for attendance - other than getting CME points - dissipates. Meeting up with Harvard fellows and investigators at the Transatlantic gathering was cool, though.

We had a repeat of the Chat GPT Quiz thanks to the return of the French chap. John, the Dunmore Cave guide, starred on his speciality topic - big cats. A Canadian lookalike for a young Catherine Zeta Jones with an actor's voice brought back memories of meeting Mick Hucknall. And advice that she join a theatre group.

Most nights led to 'stories told' by visiting customers. Things learned. Lots.

Major things - Further discoveries, in Dublin, about the doctor who invented the stethoscope. A step in the direction of converting 10-15 year old imagery on cassette tapes to a computer (thanks Michael). The basis of a ZingSpiel 'Horse Fever'. Acting the part of a father in a surfing movie (Thanks Victor, Isaac etc).

A plan re the ZingSpiel 'Shall Ve Danz'.

And a certain imminent lesson. For 'Fever'

And then there's licences and taxes. Ouch.
