All stunned here by the sad passing of our good friend Nicky Watson. Way too soon for your big smile to be leaving us Nicky. All customers staff and management at The Field will miss your help and friendship.

During these strange times we are constantly reminded of the new normal, however it's the reality of the old normal which we touch on today following the passing of our neighbour and friend Brendan Benji Lawlor. One of Kilkenny's finest gentlemen a great publican, a prudent surveyor of people, a knowledgeable and witty character, be it sport, music humanity or the craic. But from our perspective he was with Siobhan a rare breed sadly vanishing from our villages and towns " A great neighbour " somebody who knew the value of loyalty and compassion and dispersed it with a silent smile. A bed is in heaven for you Benji. Our thoughts and prayers are with Siobhan, your girls and all your family.

As a mark of respect to our neighbour we will be remain closed from this afternoon until 3pm tomorrow.

Folks we are delighted to announce that The Field will be opening up its doors once again on Monday 29th June at 12 noon.

We are so excited and so looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Clearly the health and safety of our customers and staff is our first and foremost priority, so things will look and feel a little different for the time being as we create the safest possible environment for everyone and ensure total compliance with the latest Government guidelines.

Please bear with us as we all strive to make your visit to The Field as enjoyable and comfortable as possible, but understand what we are doing is as new to us as it is to you guys - these are weird and unprecedented times!

Bookings are now being taken through our facebook messenger.

Can't wait to see you all again and thanks to everyone who has kept in touch throughout lock down, it sure has helped!!
