The Woodford Bar in the Hugenot Quarter of Cork, has a trading history dating back to the mid eighteenth century when the building was originally owned by the well
known Cork wine merchants, Woodford Bourne & Co. Now with an extensive wine menu and a wide variety of beers and spirits and fresh local food cooked daily, The Woodford Bar caters for all tastes from discerning drinkers to lazy diners, from Saturday night revellers to shoppers having a coffee. Here at the Woodford we endeavour to create a warm home from home atmosphere where we serve delicious local food and drink, in comfortable surroundings with friendly faces aplenty. During the day, the bar has a warm Parisian feel to it, with comfy leather sofas, rustic wooden scrubbed tables and mix and match armchairs to sink into, not to mention the wonderfully ornate wood and stained glass “snug” areas, for those wanting something a little more private. On Friday and Saturday nights, the Woodford transforms into a livelier bar with resident DJ’s and dancing til closing time. Shilling Lane, the entrance from Daunt Square, offers patrons the chance to smoke outside in warm, safe, private surroundings whilst not missing out on the buzz of the bar.
