Country pub & dining, real ales, great food, set in one of Buckinghamshire best kept villages We're a village pub.

“Now stir the fire, and close the shutters fast
Let fall the curtains, wheel the sofa round.. So let us welcome peaceful evening in.” – William Cowper

Our Grade II listed Georgian building is bursting with character and if famous local William Cowper was still penning poems today, we're pretty sure he would be regularly found propped up at our bar sipping a pint of Pedigree. Not a bar, not a restaurant, not even a gastropub, whatever that is. Just a great village pub – a cosy place where you'll find roaring log fires, creeping purple wisteria around the lattice windows, muddy boots at the door, and local food cooked from scratch by the very brilliant Russell. We welcome dogs (even muddy ones) and usually have a biscuit on hand to make them lifelong friends. And assuming it's not a boozy party night, we love seeing our pub being enjoyed by babies and children. We've got some games to keep them occupied, a playground in our garden and a kid's menu they'll devour.

Sadly it's our penultimate night at the Cowpers Oak and we'd love to see customers past and present for a celebration of our time here and a chance to say goodbye and thanks.

We are running a normal Sunday Lunch Service on Sunday 1st Nov after which we'll close up and eventually head off to the sun. We'll miss you guys, but also can't wait for the next chapter.

If you can't make it thanks for your support. We are around for a few weeks so you may still bump into us.

Hi Folks,
Sadly we have reached our last week at the Cowpers Oak and our plan was to keep it as normal as possible for you as we head into our retirement. Unfortunately issues outside our control mean that we will be:
𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐖𝐄𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐋𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐇𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄
We are running a normal Sunday Lunch Service on Sunday 1st so why not:
𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍 𝐔𝐒 𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆
for a celebration of our time here and a chance to say goodbye and thanks to our customers over the years.

We pride ourselves on our proper home made Sunday Roasts. Served in our traditional village pub, but just minutes from Olney and only a few miles from Central Milton Keynes.
With chefs hand peeled roast potatoes, homemade Yorkshire puds, fresh vegetables, and a selection of British meats all topped with Chefs homemade gravy, its the perfect Sunday lunch.
We don't think you'll need it but our Yorkshires and Roasties are unlimited. So just ask your server and we'll rustle up as many as you can eat. Don't you just love Sundays?
𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐮, for those who don't fancy a roast as you would expect we have an alternative menu to cater for all your needs. We also have a children's menu so give the kids a treat😊.
We are a family and a 🐾dog friendly pub, bring them all, the more the merrier!
