WE WANT TO KNOW WHY! 🤷🏻♀️
Since Ben and I reopened the pub in July 2025, it’s been an absolute blast. We’ve loved bringing the pub back to life, welcoming people through the doors and creating a place for our community to come together.
But since September, we’ve noticed a real drop in the number of customers coming through our doors, and honestly, we’re struggling to understand why.
We’re not posting this to moan, point fingers or make anyone feel bad. We’re posting because we genuinely want to understand what’s changed, what we’re getting wrong and, most importantly, what we can do better.
We’ve asked our community what they’d like to see from their local pub, and the suggestions were brilliant. But here’s what we’d really like to know…
WHERE ARE YOU? AND WHAT’S STOPPING YOU FROM COMING IN?
You asked for more children’s events, and we’ve delivered:

And that’s not all!
We’ve hosted Paint & Sip evenings, countless bingo nights, quiz nights, lunchtime bingo and coffee and cake mornings.
We’ve worked hard on our food and drink offers, put together what we genuinely believe are fantastic deals and tried to offer something for everyone.
BUT WE CAN’T HELP WONDERING… WHAT ARE WE MISSING?
Are the events not what people want? Are the prices wrong? Is there something about the pub, the atmosphere, the food, the service or the entertainment that puts you off? Have your circumstances changed? Or is there something else entirely?
We would genuinely rather hear the honest truth, even if it’s not always what we want to hear.
We aren’t expecting everyone to agree with everything we do, and we know we can’t please everybody. But we are two people who have put a huge amount of time, money, effort and passion into this pub, and we desperately want to see it thrive.
A local pub is only as strong as its community, and we want ours to be somewhere people WANT to spend their time.
So please, be honest with us. Tell us what you want, what you don’t want, what we’re doing right and what we’re getting wrong.
If you’ve stopped coming in, we’d love to know why. If there’s something we could change to bring you back, tell us.
We can’t promise we’ll be able to do everything, but we can promise we’ll listen.
