Nestled in the heart of the Lemsford community, The Crooked Chimney near Welwyn Garden City is a historic country pub that has been a beloved gathering spot for locals for more than 200 years. Originally a farmhouse known as Hornbeam Hall, this charming establishment transformed into an inn in 1756, taking on the name The Chequers. In 1968, it was rebranded as The Crooked Chimney, paying homage to its distinctive crooked brick chimney. Step inside and treat yourself to a delightful culinary experience with our menu featuring hearty favourites, traditional country pub classics and delectable seasonal dishes. Quench your thirst at our well-stocked bar, offering a wide selection of cask ales, fine wines and British gin to cater to every palate. Whether you prefer to unwind in our picturesque gardens or cosy up by the crackling log fires, we eagerly await the opportunity to welcome you to this idyllic venue.
