We’re delighted to have been featured in the latest issue of Great British Food Magazine.
The feature beautifully captures what makes a stay at The Royal so special, describing us with “impeccably polite and knowledgeable” service, “beautiful gardens with terraces and sea views,” and dining that celebrates the very best of the Isle of Wight.
Led by Head Chef Jacob Gough, we were especially pleased to see our award-winning Geranium restaurant recognised, which celebrates seasonal ingredients and local produce, with the article saying: “Dinner at The Geranium is standout too, and Isle of Wight produce shines through.”
The piece also highlights our Gallybagger cheese soufflé as “the star of the show,” made with local Gallybagger cheese and served with pickled leeks, pea shoots and brown butter hazelnuts.
And, of course, our afternoon tea receives a lovely mention too: “Perhaps the jewel in The Royal’s crown… is the afternoon tea,” described as “a perfectly executed afternoon tea” with “just the right balance of sweet and savoury.”
A wonderful feature to be included in, and a lovely celebration of food, hospitality and stays here in Ventnor, the Island's foodie capital.
