🏆⚽ MATCH PREVIEW: ENGLAND v CROATIA ⚽🏆

The wait is nearly over.

England begin their World Cup campaign on Wednesday night as Thomas Tuchel's Three Lions take on old rivals Croatia in Arlington, Texas. Kick-off is 9pm BST.

This isn't just another group game. Croatia were the side that broke English hearts in the 2018 World Cup semi-final, and with Ghana and Panama also in Group L, both teams will be desperate to take early control of the group.

England arrive in excellent form, having won every World Cup qualifier without conceding a goal. Harry Kane leads the line, Jude Bellingham is expected to play a key role, and Bukayo Saka says he's ready to feature despite managing an Achilles issue in recent weeks.

Croatia still boast the experience of Luka Modrić, now appearing at his fifth World Cup, alongside familiar names such as Mateo Kovačić, Joško Gvardiol and Ivan Perišić.

Every court has its characters.

But somewhere behind the scenes, someone has to tell the story.

Meet Michelle, Voice of the Crown. 👑

While the staff are busy pouring pints, entertaining the masses and keeping the kingdom running, Michelle is usually lurking in the background with a camera in one hand and another ridiculous idea in the other.

The jesters.

The rebels.

The keepers of keys.

The ladies-in-waiting.

The beast tamers.

The royal proclamations.

The terrible puns.

The posters.

The videos.

The social media shenanigans.

Yes...

She's responsible for all of it.

Armed with a camera, a keyboard and a steady supply of Thatchers, Michelle's mission is simple:

Take everything that makes the Queen's Head special and make sure the rest of the world hears about it.

The staff provide the characters.

The customers provide the stories.

The pub provides the magic.

Michelle simply writes it all down.

And occasionally exaggerates for dramatic effect.

So to every member of staff who has been turned into royalty, every customer who has accidentally become part of a marketing campaign, and every poor soul who has endured one too many Queen's Head puns...

🍷👑 FROM THE QUEEN'S CELLARS 👑🍷

Some people take months to settle in.

Others walk through the door and somehow feel like they've always belonged.

Meet Tania, Mistress of the Royal Cellars. 🍷

Having served in other taverns across the kingdom, Tania has seen just about everything pub life can throw at you.

The busy nights.

The colourful characters.

The stories that get taller with every telling.

And the customers who swear they're "only staying for one."

Yet despite being one of the newest members of the Queen's Court, Tania has slipped into life at The Queen's Head like a foot into a favourite slipper.

Comfortable.

Reliable.

And already part of the family.

Whether she's keeping the royal cellars in order, ensuring the loyal subjects are suitably refreshed, or sharing a smile from behind the bar, Tania brings a calm confidence that comes only from years of experience.

She knows where the good stuff is hidden.

More importantly...

She knows who deserves it. 🍻

So here's to Tania, Mistress of the Royal Cellars, keeper of fine refreshments and one of the newest — but already most valued — members of the Queen's Head family.

By Order of Her Majesty, Queen Debbie...

The Court of the Queen's Head wishes to acknowledge one of its most formidable members.

Michelle, Keeper of the Queen's Keys. 👑🗝️

Guardian of the kingdom's comings and goings, protector of common sense, and living proof that some people simply cannot be fooled.

Nothing gets past Michelle.

Well...

Almost nothing.

Armed with a sharp eye, a cutting wit and a laugh capable of rattling pint glasses from one end of the pub to the other, Michelle has long been a force to be reckoned with.

If you've done something daft, she'll probably notice.

If you've got a story to tell, she'll probably improve it.

And if you've got yourself into trouble, she'll almost certainly remind you that she warned you in the first place.

As the proud mother of our own Voice of Reason, Shana, it's fair to say that straight talking, quick wit and the occasional perfectly timed observation run in the family.

But beneath the banter and the legendary laugh is one of the warmest hearts in the kingdom and a loyal friend to all who enter the Queen's Court.

Meet Marnie, Keeper of the Crown's Beasts. 🐎

Part horse whisperer, part free spirit and entirely impossible to put in a box, Marnie brings a little bit of controlled chaos to the Queen's Court.

She takes no nonsense, speaks her mind and isn't afraid to stand her ground when she believes she's right.

But behind the rebellious streak is one of the biggest smiles in the kingdom and a heart as loyal as they come.

Whether she's looking after four-legged friends, enjoying a pint with her fellow subjects or quietly plotting her next adventure, Marnie does things her own way — and we wouldn't have her any other way.

She's proof that not every member of the royal court needs polishing...

Some are better with a little mud on their boots and a wild spirit that refuses to be tamed. 🍻🐴
