The Plough Inn, Wollaston

The Plough Inn, Wollaston A great village pub serving decent food, beer, wine and cocktails. Newly refurbed, and sister to The Wildmoor Oak in Bromsgrove.

Do not miss this one šŸ’ƒšŸ¼ ā˜€ļø

The countdown is on - it’s less than four weeks until our summer garden party, Sunday 30th August.

There’s live music 2pm-5:30pm, DJs 6-8pm, cocktails, beer, cider and pizza, and a bank holiday the following day.

Why would you not spend it with us?

Thank you Andy B for reducing business rates, and whilst this helps, it’s not enough.

Last month UKHospitality and Tom Kerridge started a campaign to get the Government to listen, and do something to protect business, jobs and secure the future of hospitality.

What everyone’s drinking this summer šŸ‘‡

We’re fascinated to see so many of you switch up your drink for the summer months, here’s a run down on what’s been moving up the rankings…

Up first, our fave - a French CƓtes de Provence in the sunshine just ticks all the boxes. Dry and crisp with berry notes - perfect.

Orange wine - not a white, nor a rosĆ©, but still crisp and perfect for warm days, and with the body of a red. We now have two - a light easy-going orange from Romania or Oh Natural! A more complex Spanish expression, worth trying if you’re the adventurous type.

Cider - of any kind. We’re seeing all kinds of beer drinkers move to the appley stuff and a huge rise in Old Mout Cider - fruit flavours are dominating, maybe we need to add another to the range?

Jubel is flying. So much so we have Peach, Pink Grapefruit and Lemon - maybe we bring the mango in too.

Finally, whether you’ve gone completely tee-total, are zebra-ing (yes that’s a thing), or just moderating, you want a choice that’s for sure.

The new lemon lager from Lucky Saint is well worth a try, or of course there’s Thatchers 0, Guinness 0, Old Mout 0, Moretti 0, Tanqueray 0 - the list goes on… No more soda and limes for the one not drinking!

Now, if that doesn’t call for a pub visit to try something new - we don’t know what does.
