Dating back to 1774, The Chequers is a historic country pub nestled in a picturesque location that started its life as a farmhouse on a 40-acre farm. This grade two listed building was then taken over by the St. Albans brewer and the farm around it grew to include a lodge, a thatched barn and a cattle barn. With a full license since 1919, The Chequers is renowned for its hearty favourites, country pub classics and seasonal dishes. Whether you're looking for a private dining experience, after-work drinks, or a festive celebration during Christmas or Easter, The Chequers has got you covered. With a car park on-site and a dog-friendly policy allowing furry friends in the bar and outside, it's the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the charm of a traditional British pub. Don't miss out on the opportunity to indulge in our well-stocked bar, featuring cask ales, fine wines and British gin. Visit The Chequers in Stevenage and embark on a memorable dining experience in a truly historic setting.
