It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the incredibly sad news of the passing of one of our much loved regulars, Harvey.
Harvey was never just a familiar face at the Plough. He was part of the Plough family. Over the years, he became a much loved part of the place, and his presence brought something very special with it.
For so many of us, it will be his smile that we remember most. That big, genuine smile that could light up the room, and make you feel happier simply by seeing it. And then there was his laugh; that wonderfully loud, infectious laugh that you couldn’t help but join in with. You could hear it across the pub, and somehow, even on an ordinary day, Harvey had a way of making it better.
There will be an empty space at the Plough now. We’ll miss seeing him walk through the door, miss the chats, the banter, the stories and, most of all, that smile and that laugh that became such a familiar and treasured part of our pub.
It is difficult to put into words how much someone can become part of a place and the people within it, until suddenly they are no longer there. Harvey left his mark on so many of us, and the memories he gave us will stay with us for a very long time.
Our hearts go out to Harvey’s family and everyone who loved him. We hope they can take some comfort in knowing just how loved he was here, and how many people will be remembering him with affection, laughter and a very heavy heart.
Thank you, Harvey, for being you. Thank you for the smiles, the laughter, the friendship, the stories and all those little moments that we probably didn’t realise at the time would one day mean so much.
The Plough won’t quite be the same without you Harvey. But you will always be part of our pub family, and you will never be forgotten. ❤️
Rest peacefully, mate. Save us a seat and keep that smile shining. 🍻
