Exhibition On Screen returns to our screen in September with James McNeill Whistler!

Finch And Toad are back after many successful workshops here at the Arts Centre! In 1 day, learn the skills needed to make a pleated lampshade with a balloon lining and contrasting bias trim.

What to expect? 💡
You will learn how to bind the frame, how a pattern for the lining can be measured, how to mark out the frame and lining for pleats. We then move on to pinning and sewing by hand the fabric in place for the pleated fabric. This is followed by machine sewing our balloon lining and securing this in position before stitching by hand. The final phase is marking out and sewing our bias binding to fit snuggly on the top and bottom frame before then being shown different techniques to secure it in place.
