Good luck to all runners taking part in the Great North Run this afternoon.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible for a refreshing beverage afterwards.
Just a reminder that our kitchen will be closed this afternoon due to the sheer number of people we expect to be here. We will have our usual selection crisps and snacks if you're peckish.

Updates to our specials menu this week include this delicious looking chicken and bacon gnocchi with a creamy parmesan sauce. We also have Texas chilli beef quesadillas and an awesome steak and ale suet pudding (hopefully a photo of that later).

Also, a reminder that our kitchen will be closed on Sunday afternoon due to the annual madness of the Great North Run. Normal service will resume on Monday.

It's quiz night at the Marine with quizmaster Dave. It's not a typical pub quiz. There are four themed rounds (the first round is always "In the news") covering a wide range of subjects. You get to choose on which round you play your joker for double points. There are also two spot prize rounds for beer tokens and a jackpot question to finish up. Head down for 19:30 to take part - £2 per person, four (or so) in a team.
