Another great weekend done! We're closed today as normal & until we start doing food we won't be opening up until 6pm the rest of the week apart from Friday, Saturday, Sunday 12- finish. 😊

Well Embsay, you confirmed what we already knew yesterday, that Friday tea is pub time! What a great afternoon we had, a lovely atmosphere. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! 😊

A week since we took over already! Time is flying. Just a quick post to say until food service resumes (hopefully soon) our opening times will be a little different. To help us get sorted we wont be opening until 5 this evening. However, we will be open from 12 tomorrow & stay open all day so those clocking off early, (you know who you are!) Can come straight to us early doors. 🍻🍻☺️

Well its been a hectic few days since we took over & I have no idea what day it is or where anything is! However, we'd just like to say thank you to everyone who's been in to say hi & have a drink...or 2..You've all been very welcoming & we already feel at home here.
Please bear with us as we navigate a new place whilst unpacking all our worldly goods! The kitchen is currently under refurbishment so we're afraid there won't be any food just at the moment but as soon as we're up & running we'll let you know. There'll be some changes but nothing too drastic & im sure you'll be pleased to know we're keeping it traditional.Meanwhile we are open for drinks so please pop in, its warm & dry.@@

We are just in the process of taking over The Cavendish Arms. We would like to say thank you to Owen, Leigh & Joe for a smooth takeover & good luck for the future. We hope to carry on the warm welcome here & to see you all over the coming weeks. Please bear with us whilst we find our feet. We won't be open until this evening for darts & doms & no food for a while, there are works planned in the kitchen, we'll let you know when it is up & running. Sorry for any inconvenience. And that’s it! Grateful thanks for all your wonderful presents, flowers and staggering number of cards with wonderful messages that we’ll treasure forever.

But don’t worry- The Cavendish will reopen tomorrow as normal, with new people at the helm, and they’ll be running this page too, so stay tuned!

Some of you may have noticed the damage to the bridge outside the pub (a skip wagon tried to do some alterations…)
Here’s a drawing of the bridge in all its original glory from 1752- proper workmanship- most of it is still upright!
