🍺 **WE’RE HIRING — BARTENDER** 🍺
**The Doghouse, Selby** is looking for a friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic bartender to join our team.
**Approximately 10–15 hours per week**, including evening and weekend shifts.
As a craft-b**r-focused independent bar with an ever-changing selection of cask and keg b**rs, we’re looking for someone who can offer more than simply serving drinks.
**The ideal candidate will have:**
• Previous bar or hospitality experience
• A genuine interest in craft b**r
• Knowledge of b**r styles, flavours, tasting notes and hops
• The confidence to describe b**rs clearly to customers
• The ability to recommend drinks based on each customer’s tastes and preferences
• Excellent customer-service and communication skills
• A friendly, approachable and enthusiastic personality
• The ability to remain calm and organised during busy shifts
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
• Availability to work evenings and weekends
• Be aged 18 or over
You should also be willing to learn how to prepare and serve **cocktails and barista-style coffee**. Full training can be provided, but enthusiasm and a willingness to develop your knowledge are essential.
**Detailed cleaning is an essential part of every shift.** This includes keeping the bar, customer areas, equipment, glassware, toilets and back-of-house areas clean, hygienic and well presented. Cleaning must be completed thoroughly throughout the shift, not just at closing time.
Previous experience with **cellar work** would be an advantage but is not essential, as training can be provided. Cellar duties may include:
• Changing and connecting kegs
• Changing gas bottles safely
• Tapping and preparing cask ales
• Changing post-mix boxes
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe cellar
• Following correct stock-rotation and b**r-quality procedures
