This Sunday, we have the incredibly talented Bailey Tomkinson joining us for a stunning afternoon of soulful, acoustic music, alongside the Shacks famous Sunday Boil Club. Serving up our delicious Louisiana style seafood trays plus bottomless Bloody Mary's and harbourside views.

For those who don't know , she is a local born singer and St Ives gem, with much praise for her country style vocals, and infectious energy. Taking influence from Springsteen, John Denver and Taylor Swift. Performing solo or with her band The Locals, who will all be joining us for a fun summer evening very soon! So keep your eyes peeled for more information.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and designer, Luke Lobley. He is being laid to rest today.

If you’ve ever stepped foot in the Shack, you’ve met Luke.  For 15 years, he wasn’t just “our designer”— he was the visual voice of everything we built. From the original Rum & Crab Shack: Rums, Dead Mans Fingers & Stargazy and festivals from Port Eliot to Bestival
Luke was with us from the very beginning—15 years of collaboration, late-night ideas, and a friendship that blurred the lines between work and family. He was a pillar for us and a constant, brilliant creative presence in our journey . Luke helped us dream up the very world of the Shack—from the first sketch to the icon it has become.
 
He turned our ideas into the unique brands including Dead Mans Fingers and Stargazy, and he did it with a talent that was truly unmatched. To say he will be missed is an understatement; he is woven into the very walls of this business and the spirit of the Rum & Crab Shack family.
 
Rest easy, Luke. Thank you for everything.

The Cornish King Crab has landed! 🦀

Spider crab season has officially hit us here in Cornwall, and we’ve got them fresh at The Rum and Crab Shack.

Did you know? For years, the “Spider Crab” name carried a bit of a stigma, which meant a staggering 85% to 95% of the Cornish catch was shipped straight to Spain and France where they are prized as a luxury delicacy.

To help us Brits realize what we were missing, they were officially rebranded as the Cornish King Crab in 2021. We think the new name fits perfectly—the meat is sweet and delicious.

We’re on a mission to keep these beauties on home soil! Come in and try them for yourself while the season lasts. You’ll be getting a taste of a global delicacy while directly supporting our local St Ives fishery.

This Valentine’s, we’re doing double duty. Start your night at The Rum & Crab Shack for a candlelit dinner with harbour views. We’re serving up our full menu of sea-faring fare, and for one night only, you can grab any 2 courses for just £25.
Once the plates are cleared, follow the music. We’re heading down the granite steps to our “little sister,” The R Bar, for a night of intimate live Jazz.
The soundtrack? We are thrilled to host the incredible Jo McNab. Expect effortless, soulful vocals and jazz-infused melodies that set the perfect late-night tone.
🥂 The Sweetener: To keep the love flowing, every dinner booking moves through to a reserved table in the R Bar with a complimentary glass of bubbles to enjoy during the set.

Sad times for Mr Claus but keep safe in the rain and winds. We are still open as usual.

BREAKING NEWS: Santa is stuck in the ice up at the North Pole. Weather says ‘no sleigh, no boat’ today – so his grand arrival is officially cancelled.
He sends his love and promises he will be ok for tomorrow at St Ives Library from 11am and for Christmas Eve!

Tonight’s the night! Santa is making his grand arrival on our lifeboat, bringing festive cheer straight to St Ives!

Our crew are keeping a close eye on the weather to make sure Santa’s journey is safe and smooth, he’s got a very busy few weeks ahead of him. Current planned launch time is 6.15pm, keep an eye on our page for any updates.

Wrap up warm, gather your family and friends and join us to welcome him ashore - it’s a magical tradition you won’t want to miss! 🎅💫
