This Sunday, we are celebrating International Women’s day in the way we know best, with wine & cheese!

From midday until 3pm we will be pouring a smashing lineup of wines from female producers; Claire Naudi, Eva Fricke & Katie Worobeck of Maison Maenad to name but a few. Everything open by the glass.

Alongside the wines, we have four fantastic cheeses made by women in the British Isles, from our friends at

The British Isles have a vast history of women making cheese which continues to this day. Cheesemaking was predominantly the preserve of women until the early 20th century when cheesemaking became faster & mass-produced.

Today there is a resurgence in farmhouse cheesemaking and we have four of our favourites; Stonebeck Wensleyde made by Sally & Andrew Hattan in North Yorkshire, St. Jude’s made by Julie Cheyney in Suffolk, Penvesey Blue made by Hazel and Martin Tkalez, (a relatively new recipe developed by them less than ten years ago inspired by a Gorgonzola-style recipe) and Durras now made by Sarah Hennessy who’s mother developed the recipe for the buttery, rind-washed cheese in Cork in the 1970’s as part of a community of women helping to reinvigorate farmhouse cheesemaking.

Join us for this perfect pairing. The wines & cheeses will run alongside our a la carte lunch menu for those wanting a little more for lunch.
