💔🍻 A PERSONAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM TOM & Alisha Chamberlain – THE NEXT CHAPTER BEGINS… 🍻💔
Well, folks, this is a post I never thought I’d have to write. ❤️
After 3 years and 8 months at The Harry Paye, it’s with a heavy heart that I announce that we’ll be leaving as of Sunday, 1st November 2026, as we head towards a new adventure and a fresh start at The Crown in Littlehampton, West Sussex. 🏡🍺
Sometimes in life, difficult decisions have to be made, and this is one of them.
💷 THE REALITY OF THE PUB TRADE
The reasons behind our decision are quite simple: the financial pressures of running a pub have become increasingly difficult to sustain.
We’re simply not generating the income we were 12 months ago, while the costs of running the business continue to rise. Insurance, utilities, VAT, business rates and so many other overheads are putting an enormous strain on the hospitality industry.
With the recent Budget adding to those concerns, the figures just aren’t stacking up in the way they once did. 📈
The reality is that pubs up and down the country are facing the same battle. The costs keep climbing, margins keep getting tighter, and sadly, the people on the front line are left trying to make it all work.
So, after a lot of thought, we’ve made the decision to downsize a little, remain in the licensed trade, and take on a new challenge. 💪🍻
❤️ A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE
Over the last three years and eight months, we’ve experienced the highs, the lows, the laughs, the challenges and everything in between. That’s life, and that’s the pub trade!
But one thing I’ll always take away from my time at the Harry Paye is the people. ❤️
I’ve met some absolutely fantastic friends along the way, shared some brilliant memories, and gained what I can only describe as an extended family. From the regulars who have supported us, to the staff, the entertainers, the local community and everyone who has walked through those doors, thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🙏❤️
It’s been an absolute pleasure to serve this community, to be part of its life, and to share so many memorable moments with you all.
Have we had our ups and downs? Of course we have! That’s life. But the good times, the friendships and the memories will always mean a great deal to me.
🚀 ONWARDS AND UPWARDS – THE NEXT ADVENTURE!
Now, it’s time for Alisha and me to turn the page and begin a new chapter at The Crown, Littlehampton, West Sussex. 🍺🏡
It’s a fresh start, a new challenge, and an opportunity to keep doing what we love: working in the licensed trade, meeting great people and creating a welcoming place for everyone.
We genuinely hope some of you will come and visit us down there at some point. You’ll always be welcome! ❤️
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the support, the friendship, the banter and the memories over the last three years and eight months. It’s been one hell of a journey!
The Harry Paye will always hold a special place in my heart, but now it’s time to see what the future holds. ❤️🍻
