Just Six Weeks to Go until the Moors Inn Bands & BBQ Event! - This year supporting Macmillan Cancer Support. We have Five Brilliant Bands ready to Rock the Village from 2.00pm. The line-up is now complete - featuring 50's & 60's Rock and Roll classics from 'THE SONICS', Bangers from the 90's, Noughties and Beyond from 'BEAT-2-BEAT', Classic Rock, Punk and SKA from 'FINGERSMITH', Blues infused Rock from 'TOUCH OF BLUES' and an Energetic Finale from the Unstoppable 'PROGRESS REPORT.'

Back by popular demand! 'Big Band Sunday!' An ensemble of 15 keen jazz players under the expert coordination of M.D Ian Chalk will be belting-out classics and some lesser-known treats from their Jazz, Latin and Funk repertoire. So looking forward to this one!

So very pleased to announce the 2026 Bands and BBQ Event at The Moors Inn, Appleton Le Moors. This year we are supporting Macmillan Cancer Support and in particular our brave local 'jockey-in-training' Sabrina Coultas who is participating in the Macmillan 'Ride of their Lives' event at York Racecourse.
Come join us on Saturday 11th July from 1.00pm for a fantastic day of live music, BBQ and fundraising for this brilliant event!

Summer is just around the corner and we’re getting very excited about The Moors Inn Bands and BBQ event kicking off on Saturday 11th July 2.00pm. We have 5 brilliant bands performing, real ale on tap from our beer tent, succulent dishes from the BBQ and it’s all in support of local hero Sabrina who is risking life and limb to become a racehorse jockey and raise funds for macmillan. Put the date in your diary and lets give a shout out for Big Band Sunday on the 12th July featuring The York Music Forum Adult Jazz Ensemble.

The road to the Moors Inn from the A170 is currently closed due to repairs to the cattle grid. Access is still avilable via Hutton le Hole if travelling from Kirkbymoorside and via Cropton if travelling from Pickering.
