🥩 IMPORTANT STEAK NIGHT UPDATE 🥩

Just a quick update regarding our upcoming Steak Night at The Waggon & Horses.

Due to an unavoidable scheduling conflict, Steak Night will now take place on Friday 25th, one day earlier than originally advertised.

We know some of you have already booked your tables for Saturday 26th, and to those customers, we sincerely apologise for having to change the date after you’ve made plans. We completely understand that the new date may not work for everyone and appreciate your understanding.

For those who can still join us on Friday 25th, we’d absolutely love to see you, and we’ll be making sure it’s a Steak Night worth coming out for. 🥩🍷

If you already have a booking, please give us a call and we’ll happily help rearrange things for you.

The Waggon & Horses will be closed for Friday lunchtime as we’ll be hosting a private event.

🥩 STEAK NIGHT IS BACK AT THE WAGGON & HORSES! 🥩

It’s nearly that time again… and this month we’ve added a couple of little extras to make Steak Night even better. 🍷

Alongside our usual Steak Night menu, we’ve added an extra vegetarian starter, plus something rather special for the main course…

🦌 6oz Venison Steak
Celeriac purée • Parmentier potatoes

A beautiful cut of venison, carefully cooked and served with silky celeriac purée and golden Parmentier potatoes — and best of all, there’s no additional supplement for choosing it.

Whether you fancy the venison or one of our Steak Night favourites, come hungry and make an evening of it. Great food, a few drinks and a proper night at the pub. ❤️

Tables tend to fill up, so booking is highly recommended.

PROPER GRAVY TAKES TIME 👨‍🍳

We often get customers asking, “What do you put in your gravy? Why does it taste so good?”

Well… it starts here. Good beef bones, roasted until beautifully golden. 🥩

From there, it’s a long process — roasting, simmering, reducing and building layer after layer of flavour. No shortcuts, no five-minute fix. Just time, patience and proper cooking.

It might only look like gravy when it reaches your plate, but there are hours of work behind it before it ever gets near your roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding.

Because when you come to us for a proper pub meal, we think the gravy should be proper too. ❤️
