Thanks to Punch for getting someone in a short notice, to ensure that the pub stays open.

If anyone wants to, or knows anyone who would be interested in running the Boot and Shoe, it is being advertised on the Punch Pubs website.

The Boot & Shoe is a traditional village pub full of character, set in the desirable village of Greystoke, just on the edge of the Lake District.Inside, the pub offers separate trading areas, including a main bar and lounge arranged into distinct spaces, along with an additional room currently used....

Dear all,

As many of you will know, our family have faced some significant challenges since we took over the Boot and Shoe, and, as a result, we have taken the incredibly hard decision to give the keys back.

The pub has gone from strength to strength and it has been wonderful to see so many regular faces returning, and to meet a lot of new people. We will miss it incredibly, but will join you on the other side of the bar!
We cannot thank you enough for the amount of help, support and love that this amazing community has given to us during our brief time there. We couldn't have done it without you all.

It seems fitting that we started with a musical afternoon, and that tomorrow's music will be our last before we close the door for the last time on Monday evening.

Another successful quiz night on Tuesday.
The winners were 'Legs eleven plus yan" who kindly donated their winnings back in. £65 raised for Penrith Mountain Rescue.
