💔 AN OPEN LETTER TO THE TWO MEN WHO STOLE FROM OUR FAMILY BUSINESS.
This weekend, two grown men walked into our restaurant, ordered some of the most expensive dishes on our menu, consumed a considerable amount of alcohol and ran up a bill of £170.
Our team welcomed you, cooked for you and looked after you.
And you repaid them by walking out without paying a penny.
When confronted, you refused to pay. Even worse, as you sped away, you drove towards a member of our staff, putting their safety at risk.
All to avoid paying £170.
Do you have any idea what it takes to run a small hospitality business right now?
We work bloody hard. Long days, late nights, missed family time and endless worries about rising costs.
We have children to provide for, staff who depend on us, wages to pay and a business we've poured our hearts and souls into.
To you, it was a free meal and something to laugh about. To us, it's our livelihood.
Hospitality is struggling enough without people thinking they have the right to steal from hardworking businesses.
But what hurts most isn't the money. It's the complete lack of respect for our staff and their safety.
You may think you've got away with it, but we have CCTV footage, your vehicle registration and have reported the incident to the police.
Behind every independent restaurant is a family trying their absolute best.
We don't expect sympathy. We just expect honesty, decency and respect.
We work bloody hard for what we have, and nobody has the right to take that away from us.
Shame on you. 💔
One very angry, upset and disappointed family-run business owner.
