Your local pub is more than somewhere to buy a pint.
🍺 It’s where friends meet.
⚽ It’s where we celebrate together.
🎤 It’s where memories are made.
👨👩👧👦 It’s part of the community.
💼 And it provides jobs for local people.
But hospitality businesses across the country are under enormous pressure.
🇬🇧 Hospitality VAT in the UK is 20%.
🇫🇷 France – 10%
🇪🇸 Spain – 10%
🇮🇹 Italy – 10%
🇩🇪 Germany – 7%
Why should British hospitality be expected to compete with one of the highest VAT rates in Europe?
This isn’t about asking for a handout.
It’s about asking for a fairer tax system that gives pubs, restaurants, cafés, hotels and other hospitality businesses the opportunity to survive, invest, employ people and keep serving their communities.
The national campaign is calling on the Government to reduce hospitality VAT to 10%.
And we’re proud to stand behind it.
But the industry can’t do this alone.
