The Rutland Arms - Newark is the new home of Newark Chess Club

Welcome to Newark Chess Club
Newark Chess Club meets on Thursday evenings at 7.15pm in the function room of the Rutland Arms Hotel on Barnbygate, Newark, NG24 1PX. Our first meeting of the 2026-27 season is on Thursday 3rd September.
We enter 3 teams in the Nottinghamshire Chess League at a range of levels. We also play social games, and have a number of junior members.

We’re currently setting up at The Rutland for a day of FAMILY FUN! 🥳

🎵 Adult bingo between 3-5pm!

Please note due to busy trading periods kids are welcome but during bingo and other live entertainment times children must remain seated with parents while in the main pub.
Yesterday was a very busy day and unfortunately I received complaints about children running around the pub unsupervised.

Trance Central will be In the Back function room live from 2 til 11 with over 10 live DJ’s
