The Fox and Crown Pub and Bottleshop, which stands on the site on which were two shops, is the Castle Rock resurrection of the previously closed down Fox & Crown. This re-opening marked the return of Tynemill to Newark, where the company was born 36 years ago. The pub has been open now for 19 years, offering excellent service in a friendly and comfortable environment. We offer up to ten cask ales, three craft ales and four lagers as well as traditional cider and stout. Our craft fridges are full of bottles and cans of craft beer from across the world. We always include Vegan Ales on our bar, which are clearly marked. We also serve hot beverages with our coffee being sourced from Stewarts at Trent Bridge.. Newark on Trent has a very good market on Wednesday and Saturday and we are open from 10.30am everyday to accommodate visitors and locals alike. If you are visiting the Palace Theatre, we are a 2 minute walk from the theatre and so are handy for pre-drinks, interval drinks and after-drinks. The Fox and Crown is situated less than a minute’s walk from the National Civil War Centre, (opened in 2015) and therefore makes a great place for food and refreshment to visitors of the centre from near and far. Alex and the team look forward to welcoming you to our great pub.

Matt Poole and Dan Brown are currently sat at the Horse and Plough in Bingham. 2nd to last pub! Last one is…you guessed it! The Fox!!

We are desperately trying to get there before 7pm (our 48 hour cut-off) but standing up again to start walking is going to be very tough!

It's a special edition of the quiz today as Dan & Matt will be finishing their Castle Rock charity pub crawl at the Fox during the quiz! 😁

They should be arriving at the pub at 7pm so please come down and welcome the boys home at the finish line!

We'll also be having a raffle with loads of great prizes to be drawn after the quiz with all ticket sales and also quiz entry money going to the charity.

Dan and Matt started their insane walk last night. Getting their first drink at 7pm at the Cricketers Rest in Kimberley, getting to The Bread And Bitter for 9:40 and then the Lincolnshire Poacher in time for last orders.

Today, they are most certainly not quite as spritely as when they left Kimberley

Today’s the day! Dan Brown and Matt Poole will be starting their stupid long walk/pub crawl at 7pm at The Cricketers Rest in Kimberley. Walking to Mapperley Top to the The Bread And Bitter and finishing the first leg at Lincolnshire Poacher in Nottingham!
