Happy 4th Birthday to The New Foresters π³οΈβπβ€οΈ
This weekend we celebrate not just a pub, but a place filled with history, love, resilience and community.
Since first opening its doors around 1891 as The Foresters Arms, The New Foresters has stood proudly in Nottinghamβs history. Weβre even proud to still display the original Foresters Arms signage in the bottom beer garden β a reminder of the incredible journey this venue has taken through the decades.
Known as a safe haven for the LGBTQ+ community since 1938, during a time when simply being yourself was still illegal, this venue became a hidden sanctuary where people could meet, connect and feel accepted. From the discreet back room gatherings of decades past, to becoming officially recognised with a Pink Plaque in 2019, The New Foresters has always been more than four walls and a bar.
The incredible Debbie Law dedicated 22 years to making this venue Nottinghamβs number one safe space, and today that legacy continues under Brent Foster, whose passion and commitment keep the heart of this special place beating stronger than ever.
Now, as we celebrate 4 amazing years of this new chapter, we honour everyone who has walked through these doors looking for friendship, safety, laughter, love and belonging.
And what better way to celebrate than together on the dancefloor πβ¨
Join us this weekend as we raise a glass to the past, present and future of The New Foresters.
Hereβs to many more years of pride, community and unforgettable nights β€οΈ
