In the UK, you pay one of the highest VAT rates in Europe. 20% extra in VAT for your meal out or stay away. In France, Spain and Italy, it's 10%. In Germany? 7%.

Our message to Government is simple. Let's stand together to say VAT at 10% is fair for hospitality.

A big thank you to everyone who came to our race night last night, and everyone who couldn't make it but still sponsored a horse! We managed to raise a fantastic £760 to go towards the Village Hall repairs!

What a fantastic night of music we had at Lone Star - Open Mic and what an eclectic mix it was too. We had music students, first timers, originals, classics, singalongs, electric guitars and, lots of duos!

We also had masses of support too which is brilliant for everyone performing.

A big shout out to everyone who came along from near and far to sing and play and put a smile on everyone’s face. A big shout out to Skye & Callum, Chris & Terry, Terry & Rachael, Jake, Nick & Joseph, the legend that is Rob Wheaton from Seaton (and Rachel of course).

Thanks to everyone for coming along and supporting each other and a big thank you to Sharon and Frankie on the bar and to The Cannon Inn for helping to keep music live.

We’ll be back on Tuesday the 5th May (first Tuesday of the month) for more, more, more music.
