Sunday the 13th of December… The Hi-Stakes, featuring their iconic frontman Sam Ghezzi, is a quintet based in Amsterdam. The band makes the audience jump, dance and shout to Rhythm and Blues inspired by Louis Jordan, dream away to the sweet sound of Blues Ballads in the heritage of Percy Mayfield and shake the hips to the boogaloos of Blue Note Records of the late 50’s.
Original tunes, with lyrics full of irony and passion, played authentically from a vast range of popular genres of the time, be it a lyrical blues ballad or an explosive old school rhythm ‘n blues number; in other words, their repertoire covers anything in between the jazz and the blues worlds.

Next week we kick off November in Cluny 2 with Pink Moon Rising A Nick Drake Tribute by Alex Lewis.

Alex will be performing Nick Drake’s classic album Pink Moon, shares little known stories of the cult figure’s life and performs original material inspired by the same musical world.

🚨ON SALE NOW!!🚨 Dutch Uncles return to The Cluny for the first time in a decade.

Dutch Uncles formed in the spring of 2008 in Marple (a suburb of Stockport, England). The line-up comprises Duncan Wallis (vocals/piano), Robin Richards (bass), Andy Proudfoot (drums), Peter Broadhead (guitar/marimba) Neil Wright (guitar) and Henry Broadhead (synths/percussion).

The band distinguished itself by blending pop accessibility with adventurous musical textures, angular rhythms, marimba and vibraphone touches, and often atypical time-signatures. Influences included the likes of Talking Heads, XTC, Kate Bush, King Crimson and composer Steve Reich.

He has exploded on to the folk scene in recent years with several number one hits at home, social media virality and many international tours.
