Our mission is to spread the word about the wonders of local craft beer, to make friends, build a community and bring people together, everyone/everything being equal in the pub. Our Tap Room is located on Ford Street, Ouseburn Valley, Byker and is open daily. We would love you to come and join us to try our fantastic range of quality cask and keg beers brewed here at Brinkburn St, The Steam Machi

ne Brew Co., and other brewery partners. We've also got a great selection of seasonal cocktails, speciality gins, rums, wines, coffees, and craft soft drinks too. We offer a combination of Northeast-inspired small plates, main courses, cheese-sharing boards, and desserts with all our dishes prepared by our chefs using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Many of these dishes include our own beers as ingredients, brewed right here on the premises. We also offer a range of American Street Food including our amazing burgers and pizzas. Our unique and quirky Maling Hall Events Space with a capacity of up to 250 is where we hold a wide range of events including our ‘Big Pub’ Nights with resident and guest DJs. Here is what the lovely people at Accenture had to say about their recent visit:

"We all thoroughly enjoyed the food provided and the room set up was great for our group. The room design made a nice change from the usual corporate set up, which made it ideal for our Away Day where we were looking for something a bit different. Staff were really helpful and accommodating of all of our needs."

Today marks an absolutely massive milestone for Tyneside.

Exactly 150 years ago today, on 15th June 1876, the magnificent Swing Bridge officially opened for road traffic.

Designed and constructed by the visionary local engineering genius William Armstrong, the Swing Bridge was a true marvel of the Victorian era.

At the time of its completion, it was the largest swinging bridge in the entire world.

It was built for a very specific reason – the previous low-level Georgian stone bridge prevented large sea-going vessels from navigating further up the River Tyne. By creating a bridge with a 3,000-tonne central span that could rotate using hydraulic power, Armstrong brilliantly ensured that massive ships could finally sail upstream to reach his booming Elswick works.

Standing proudly on the exact same site as the original Roman crossing, Pons Aelius, it remains one of the most historic and recognisable landmarks on our beloved Quayside.

Have you ever been lucky enough to be walking along the riverbank while the Swing Bridge was turning?
