6 days left before we close our doors till the end of November, and so you can come and make the most of our last pub weekend for a while, we’ve got a cracking Saturday ready for you!
Saturday 7th November
10.30-12 noon or sell out - MONTHLY ARTISAN MARKET.
7pm onwards - the end of the pub as you know it party - live music from the superb TOM SETH JOHNSON- a red lion live absolute favourite and rescheduled his London gig circuit specially to come and play at the party!
Come for a glass, come for dinner, come for the live tunes, come and help us drink the bar dry! We’ll see you at the bar!

Whilst the storm is raging get your dates in for next week at Ye Olde Red Lion Chieveley!

Wednesday - it’s the last W**e tasting of the year - “not the usual suspects”, come and try a fab selection of w**es you may not know as well - along with Merry Kitchen canapés and grazing boards.

Friday - pizza night is back - with guest chef Phil “Luigi” Duffield smashing out our fantastic pizzas!

Remember our superb Red Lion Roasts are served every Sunday 12-4pm - we get pretty full so always give us a call to book - the new pork loin on the bone is a total winner!

The bad news is - we have to close from 9th November for 2 weeks to do the final refurb push - sad times!!!! The good news is the diary is absolutely jam packed before the close and after the grand reopening. So, get the dates in your diaries folks - w**e tasting, pizza night, drink the bar dry party, grand re opening party, festive wreath workshop, Christmas menu, Christmas market, Christmas carols, Christmas party, New Year’s Eve party! You know we love a party!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. This is the end of the pub as you know it and the start of a whole new era - we’d love you to come along and share it with us!!! We hope you are as excited as Carter is 🤣🤣. We’ll see you at the bar!!!

A little building update for you - it’s taking shape and you can really start to see the space inside!!! This will be our “courtyard room”, a fantastic addition to the pub - the perfect Sunday family lunch spot, a great place for a dinner with friends, a live band with ready made dancefloor area, but what we have primarily done is designed it to be a fabulous event space for your celebrations. You will be able to hire out The Courtyard Room for your birthday parties, christenings, reunions, meetings and even weddings. So if you are looking for the right place to celebrate in 2027 then let us know - you may well have just found the perfect spot! Drop us a dm if you would like to talk plans and check dates.

It’s back - Market @ The Lion returns this Saturday after its Summer break! Artisan food & craft stalls, plus coffee and bacon rolls from the landlord! 10.30-12noon. We will be inside due to the building work so do ignore the scaffolding and come on in! We can’t wait to see you!!!

A little building works update for you all from Ye Olde Red Lion Chieveley. Very busy, a bit noisy (but not during service times 😘), pretty full on, brilliant progress and the landlords “mood board” is something to behold!!!! Thanks so much for bearing with us - it will all be worth it and just a reminder we are open as usual!
