A little building works update for you all from Ye Olde Red Lion Chieveley. Very busy, a bit noisy (but not during service times 😘), pretty full on, brilliant progress and the landlords “mood board” is something to behold!!!! Thanks so much for bearing with us - it will all be worth it and just a reminder we are open as usual!

Just a note to say we will look a bit like this over the next few months, whilst we build our fantastic new extension, due to open end of November. HOWEVER WE ARE STILL OPEN - minimal “builder” noise over lunchtimes and no “builder” noise in the evenings 🤣, and as yet, absolutely no change inside whatsoever! So do come along for a pint and a pie, a cracking Sunday roast, or a glass and a catch up with your mates, it’s literally - business as usual! We can’t wait to see you and tell you all about our plans!

It’s the Saturday of the Summer this weekend - Festival @ The Lion Ye Olde Red Lion Chieveley. The line up is epic - One Eyed Man /•\, Molly Brown The Extra Covers Dan Cottle Luca Greeham, One Lump or 2, Shedload, the street food is superb - think Barbie with slow cooked ribs, pizza and the big chilli, the locals are legends and the pub knows how to party!!! And it’s free - no ticket, no admission charge - just great music all day and all night, great b**rs & ciders, festival cocktails and a whole lot of fun!! We can’t wait to festival with you!!!!!

We’re on countdown to the return of the annual FESTIVAL AT THE LION at Ye Olde Red Lion Chieveley - next Saturday - 29th August. Fantastic Live music, cracking street food, banging ciders & ales - from 12 noon till close. All welcome - 8 months to 80! No entrance fee - just come and grab a b**r & a burger (or a pizza or a bowl of chilli) and enjoy some superb live music with a great atmosphere! We can’t wait to see you!!!

The last of our fabulous Friday summer sessions is this Friday and we’re going out with a bang - we’re firing up the paella pan & Jamie Bruce is playing live! The paella is epic, Jamie is always superb, the sun is shining and the b**rs are cold - the perfect start to your weekend! We’ll see you at the bar!! Jamie Bruce

Unplugged/open mic at Ye Olde Red Lion Chieveley - this Friday night 6-9pm outside on the terrace. Amps/mics provided - all ages, all abilities, all welcome to sing, play, dance in front of a very friendly crowd. Fab Summer bar-b-que served 6-9pm too. Come along for a cracking evening and take part or enjoy the talent! Please do drop us a message or give us a call if you would like a spot - 01635 248379. Our last unplugged was such a fab chilled night with a brilliant impromptu jam at the end - we’d love to see you!

This Friday - 24th July sees the return of CHIEVELEY UNPLUGGED at the lion. A chance for anyone of any age and ability to sing, play, dance in front of a very friendly crowd. Our last one was fabulous and turned into an impromptu collab with some of those taking part! Your voice, your guitar, your recorder are all welcome. We’re celebrating the start of the summer holidays with this fab event, along with a bar-b-que for all to enjoy. We’d love you to take part, just give us a shout in the pub this week so we have an idea of who would like to take part! We’re also running a fabulous summer bar-b-que 6-9pm so come along to take part and perform or to support and enjoy!
