Closure
We are heartbroken to announce that as of 4th October 2023, The Halfway Inn will remain closed.
It is fair to say that during our time here, we have experienced both the highs and lows of running an independent business in the hospitality industry. However, the lows are far outweighing the highs and our dream has to come to an end.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank every customer that has crossed our doorstep and visited us. Whether, it was just for a drink, a meal or a special occasion, we hope that you enjoyed your time with us.
We also want to thank everyone who returned and visited us time and time again. Thank you for your ongoing support. You have been amazing.
We know that this may come as a shock to those of you who always comment on how the business seems to be ‘thriving’ and doing so well. But…
“IF’ every day was like a Saturday & Sunday. ‘IF’ wage costs and demands were not spiralling out of control. ‘IF’ there were a plethora of good quality chefs without huge wage demands, that would have enabled us to open seven days a week. ‘IF’ utility costs had not risen to such ridiculous amounts. ‘IF’ prices of products had not risen so high, we may have been able to stick to our goal of great local produce. IF only…
These are constant reminders of why there are so many independent pubs in England & Wales closing on a daily basis?
This all said, we will look back at our time at The Halfway Inn with pride and happiness, knowing that we made a lot of you happy during your visits.
Lastly, we want to say a huge thank you to all of our team, who have been part of our journey. Especially the ones that are here now. Charlotte, Corey, Adam, Roxi, Angela, Alice, Ashleigh, Bryn, Bea, Martha, Yas, Andor, Ava & Hunter… Thank you for all, for your hard work and commitment! We could not have done this without you. We are so sorry to have to say goodbye to you all, and we wish you every ounce of luck and success in your futures. Thank you!
Love to all
Jo & Nick
