WELLβ¦ WHAT CAN WE SAY? WOW! WHAT A WEEKEND! π€―β€οΈ
When you have back-to-back buffets, functions, amazing entertainment and a pub full of people, you really do find out just how lucky you are to have the people you have around you.
Behind every successful weekend are hours of shopping, planning, prepping, cooking, serving, clearing, washing up and probably questioning your life choices somewhere along the way! π
So, a few VERY well-deserved thank yous are in order.
β€οΈ Firstly, our daughter Emma, who jumped behind the bar on Friday evening while we battled our way through the Meat Loaf fans.
Emma, you were an absolute hit! You certainly brought some extra sparkle to the bar and we look forward to having you back.
π― Haydon Bainbridge , for making sure the darts ran smoothly on Friday, freeing Paul up to work his magic behind the bar. And that was just the beginning of your weekend!
π½οΈ Karl Andrew Gaskell , who has spent TWO DAYS working alongside me to produce an absolutely fantastic buffet for 150 people.
Karl, I know you're knackered, and yes, you moaned like a bitch throughout, but I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you! πβ€οΈ
𧽠Our surprise pot washers, Calvin and Declan!
You probably didn't realise you had signed up for the role until yesterday, but my goodness, you saved us hours of washing up. Every pub needs a Calvin and Declan!
πββοΈ Haydon, for setting up the buffet room, making sure everything was exactly where it needed to be and helping with countless little jobs behind the scenes, alongside Declan. Those little things make a BIG difference.
π» Steven Graham , for jumping behind our bar last night before your shift had even started. That's dedication!
π΄ Haydon, Declan and Karl, for helping bring out what felt like an endless supply of buffet food. We hope you enjoyed carrying approximately 47,000 plates! π
ποΈ Debra Dalton , for doing the rounds with the trusty bin bags. Never underestimate the importance of someone willing to chase rubbish around a busy room!
And of course, Vicky, who's probably just as knackered as the rest of us but has been right there through it all. β€οΈ
Now THAT is teamwork!
It's about people giving up their time, going above and beyond, stepping in without being asked and doing whatever needs doing to make sure our customers get the very best experience.
Some gave hours, some gave minutes, but every single bit of help counted.
We might be absolutely shattered, the washing pile may have reached dangerous proportions and we're all probably considering a week's hibernationβ¦
BUT WE DID IT! β€οΈ
To every single one of you, THANK YOU.
πYOU GUYS SHONE THIS WEEKEND.π
This is what The York is about. Not just a pub, but a team of people who pull together when it matters.
We're very lucky to have you all. β€οΈπ»
