🥃 The new era of Welsh wh**ky

For most of the 20th century, wh**ky production had all but disappeared from Wales. Then Penderyn began distilling in 2000, helping kickstart a new chapter in Welsh wh**ky.

Today, five distilleries produce Single Malt Welsh Wh**ky under its protected geographical status – and we want Silver Circle to join them.

When we started researching how to produce wh**ky, we couldn’t believe the lack of wh**ky history here in Monmouthshire. We’ve found evidence of historic maltings and wh**ky being stored and sold, but so far, no evidence that wh**ky has ever actually been distilled here.

As far as we can establish, Silver Circle will be the first distillery in Monmouthshire to make wh**ky.

We’ll be doing it on a tiny scale here in the Wye Valley, with the aim of eventually producing our own protected Single Malt Welsh Wh**ky.

And we want you to be part of it.

Our Crowdfunder is live now, with rewards including bottles from our first release and membership of the Silver Circle Wh**ky Club.

📣 We want to make wh**ky, the first Welsh single malt wh**ky from Monmouthshire to be specific, and we need YOUR help to do it.

Producing wh**ky is expensive, especially for a small distillery like ours. So we’ve launched a Crowdfunder campaign to raise the £30,000 we need to get the project started and to fill our first cask.

What a summer it’s been so far!☀️

Pizza at the Farm has sold out every Friday through July and August, and we’ve welcomed a record number of guests for tastings and experiences.

All of this made possible by our brand new patio and stretch tent!

A huge shout out to Afon Events, who supplied and installed the stretch tent and were absolutely brilliant to work with from start to finish. We couldn’t be happier with how the space has turned out.

The project was made possible with support from the Weather Proofing Fund from the Welsh Government Visit Wales, helping us create a more comfortable, usable visitor space throughout more of the year.

🐶Yes, we’re dog friendly!!

A lot of people have asked recently, so we thought we’d put it out here! You are super welcome to bring your dog to the distillery, as long as they’re well behaved and on a lead.

We look forward to seeing you and your dog pals at the distillery this summer!

Did you know that we have an excellent selection of natural w**es at the distillery? Our small w**e list is curated by Tom at Branch and Vine, a fantastic bottle shop and w**e bar only 15 minutes from the distillery. You can try our w**es by the glass or by the bottle in our bar which is open until 9pm every Friday and Saturday, and make sure to pay Tom a visit when you’re in the area! 🍷

We have a couple of spaces left for our hugely popular workshop with Chloé of Gourmet Gatherings this Saturday!

Spend the morning foraging with Chloé and then bring your wild botanicals back to the distillery to distil your own unique wild gin.
