A familiar name is returning to Durham. 💛

After its final service as Notch Americano on 1 November, the venue at Elvet Bridge is preparing for a new chapter as Emilio’s.

We’re delighted to see one of our clients bring Emilio’s back to its former home. The name was part of Durham’s dining scene for more than 30 years, and we can’t wait to see what the team has planned for this next chapter.

Christmas and New Year can be some of the busiest weeks of the year for pubs and hospitality venues. Is your team ready for the responsibility that comes with selling alcohol? 🍷

Aspire’s final Personal Licence Holder course of 2026 takes place on 23 November at Wallsend Town Hall.

The course helps attendees understand licensing law and their responsibilities, including preventing sales to under-18s and knowing when to refuse service to someone who is drunk. It’s a valuable way to prepare your team for busy festive shifts and strengthen your venue’s procedures.

Once you’ve successfully completed the course, Aspire Licensing can also handle the checks and all parts of your personal licence application. This application service is available for an additional charge; completing the course does not automatically grant a licence.

A very special day for our clients at Oli & Joes Italian Steakhouse, Low Fell! 🥂 Oli & Joe's Italian Steakhouse

Today, the team are preparing to open their doors for the very first time, and it’s been wonderful watching the transformation - from a building devastated by fire to the stunning restaurant it is today.

A huge amount of hard work and care has gone into bringing this space back to life, and everyone involved should be incredibly proud. ✨
