Here’s the diary of events for November for The Railway Tavern - starting on Thursday with a Quiz Night……

We are deeply saddened to bring the news that former Mellis resident, Alan Smyth, passed away suddenly on October 13th 2026. Alan was fondly known as "Irish Al" or "Acid Al". I have been asked by his partner Alison to share the details of his funeral.

It will be held on Friday 27th November at 1.15pm at The West Chapel, Cambridge Crematorium, Cambridge. https://cambridge.gov.uk/cambridge-crematorium

There will be a wake after the service at The Haymakers Pub in Chesterton, Cambridge. https://www.individualpubs.co.uk/haymakers/
If anybody wishing to attend could please let me or Alison know so as she can arrange catering numbers it would be much appreciated.

Our crematorium on Huntingdon Road is a peaceful venue for faith-based or secular funerals.

Lot's going on this week here at The Tavern.

We have LIVE MUSIC this Saturday 31st October from 8.30pm with two full sets from the best country band around, STETSON'S ARE COOL.

This Thursday 29th October it's BINGO NIGHT with loads of CASH prizes to be won from 7.30pm.

THE BURGER KITCHEN, along with our regular menu is available Friday's from 6pm, Saturday's from 3pm and Sunday's from 1pm.

A quick heads up for the WACKY MUSIC BINGO on Saturday 14th November, we have just 10 places left if anyone wants to join the party with MASSIVE CASH PRIZES.
